Improving sales processes with a migration to a Microsoft CRM system.
Working with an infrastructure installation organisation, Akita Intelligent Solutions undertook a Salesforce to Dynamics 365 migration to support a business transformation programme.
The organisation, which operates across the UK, Italy and Spain, was diversifying its sales approach, implementing a new sales contact centre and bolstering its field sales teams. However, its existing Salesforce CRM solution was proving unfit for its purpose: a lack of contact centre methodology and inflexible sales processes were causing frustration among sales agents and resulting in user abandonment.
Based on the organisation’s requirements and its wider adoption of Microsoft 365 applications, we were able to recommend Dynamics 365 Sales and Field Service as an improved solution.
Undertaking The Salesforce To Dynamics 365 Migration
The initial Salesforce to Dynamics 365 Sales migration addressed the issues faced by the contact centre team. The Microsoft CRM solution was tailored to match the team’s processes, simplifying their tasks.
All relevant data from Salesforce was migrated into Dynamics 365 Sales. This ensured seamless operation for the sales teams. It also provided an opportunity to discard old data no longer required.
Dynamics 365 also allows for more accurate reporting on this team’s performance, providing real-time data on calls made, duration and success rates.
Part of the sales process requires the coordination of remote teams for site surveys, quotations and installation. Scheduling had been coordinated from spreadsheets; a process that was proving time-consuming and prone to error. To address this, we implemented Dynamics 365 Field Service to streamline scheduling between site sales and installation teams. This has allowed for the automation of bookings, radically simplifying the scheduling of customer and field team diaries.
The Salesforce to Dynamics 365 migration has made sales processes simpler and more efficient, driving up user adoption. As a result, the speed of quoting has increased, resulting in increased sales conversions.
Benefits of migrating from Salesforce to Dynamics 365
Dynamics 365 and Salesforce are popular sales CRM platforms used by businesses. However, Dynamics 365 stands out for its close integration with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, offering a familiar user interface for those already using Microsoft tools.
It also provides native analytics and reporting through Power BI, making data-driven decision-making more accessible. The platform's scalability and flexibility cater to the needs of enterprises with complex requirements. Additionally, Dynamics 365 offers better offline capabilities, making it suitable for users in areas with poor internet connectivity.
With strong Microsoft support and continuous updates, Dynamics 365 remains a compelling choice for organisations seeking a CRM solution that aligns well with their existing Microsoft environment and customisation needs.
