Assisting an automotive dealership to deliver consistent pricing across their operations.
Our valuation Power App updated an existing paper process to enable consistent and competitive vehicle pricing across an automotive dealership group.
The dealership sells new vehicles but also buys and sells used vehicles at its various retail locations across the South East.
The three-stage valuation process used to be performed on paper, and there was no oversight of how vehicles were being priced across the various locations that the dealership runs. The result was customers taking their vehicles to multiple retail locations within the dealership to see which would give them the highest price.
The valuation Power App was designed to ensure consistency in pricing across all locations. Linked to the company’s SharePoint Online setup (which is configured as a database management system), the Power App digitises the paper process.
As the first stage, the valuation Power App starts by prompting the salesperson to take key details about the vehicle to be purchased (make, model, year, VIN etc.). When the registration number is entered, the Power App will show if the vehicle has been quoted for at any other location in the dealership. This ensures that any offer stays consistent across all locations. Based on this information and on previous sales data held in SharePoint Online, the salesperson will create the first valuation.
The vehicle is then passed on to a technician. They will perform a more detailed assessment of the condition of the vehicle and perform a check on key parts (lights, ignition, tyres and so on). Should a part be damaged or non-functional, the technician will add information on the cost of replacement or repair into the Power App. The technician will then produce a second valuation for the vehicle.
Finally, a manager will review the information provided in the first two stages. They can then review previous sales information on similar vehicles, and determine a final price based on existing stocks, sales targets, demand and more.
Details of the final price offered to the customer is then logged into the SharePoint database management system via the Power App, keeping a record of what has been offered.
The valuation Power App has already helped increase profits across the dealership by ensuring no more is paid for a vehicle at one location than another. With information now available at their fingertips, managers can also ensure that the stock they buy in meets demand trends and that the price paid for the vehicle is consistent with previous sales amounts.
