Group-wide communication and file management using Microsoft SharePoint Online
Akita successfully delivered a SharePoint communication site and cloud file management solution for a leading golf charity.
When the charity began working with several new golf courses spread across the south of England, it needed a way to communicate and share news and files between all of its locations to ensure consistency of branding and message.
As each location was running its own separate IT system, bringing all locations onto the same network was prohibitively expensive. However, as most users at all locations were using Microsoft Office 365 accounts, they had access to SharePoint Online by default.
We therefore configured a SharePoint communication site designed to allow all locations to share access to files and information in the cloud.
Accounts, HR and Sales information are now securely stored for all locations in the centralised SharePoint Online site. With administration settings in place, only those with the correct access rights can see sensitive documents pertaining to all locations.
With 1TB of cloud storage per organisation included with SharePoint and Office 365 licences, the golf charity knew it could store a large number of files at no extra cost above that of existing licences. Even after all files were added, it was clear that the SharePoint site would still prove scalable for a long time to come.
With staff at all course locations now using the same cloud storage solution every day, it’s become the ideal place to share news from across the charity. As such, the homepage has been configured as a SharePoint communication site to keep users up to date about the latest news developments.
The new SharePoint Online solution has improved communication across locations and provided an ideal way to collaborate in the cloud.
