Challenge
With over 200 staff located globally, the organisation hires at scale. It faced several recruitment challenges:
- There was a lack of a unified system for posting jobs across subsidiaries.
- Inefficient processes for notifying hiring managers and applicants around progress for applications.
- Difficulty for applicants in finding and applying to jobs across multiple brands and companies.
The above points were problematic for potential external applicants, but even more so for internal talent that struggled to see opportunities within the organisation. This often resulted in staff leaving rather than pursuing new internal roles.
To address these issues, the company needed a modern, scalable solution that integrated seamlessly with their existing systems.
Akita’s Recruitment Solution With Power Apps
Working with the internal recruitment teams, we delivered a tailored recruitment solution using Microsoft Power Apps and the organisaton’s existing SharePoint intranet to create a centralised, efficient platform for job postings. This consisted of the following:
Power Apps Canvas App
An embedded Power Apps canvas app was created within a SharePoint hub. This served as the central interface for posting and managing job listings.
API Integration
Akita’s team worked to integrate the Power App with the organisation’s HR platform, Workable. By creating this API, admins can seamlessly amend or post jobs from the central Workable system rather than needing to edit multiple job locations.
Automated Notifications
Multiple automation ideas were implemented to enhance communication:

- Applicants received instant confirmations upon submitting their applications.
Improved Applicant Experience:
With the advanced search function within the Power App, job seekers could more easily search for relevant positions and apply across the company’s various brands and subsidiaries. Functionality was even added to be able to share roles with colleagues, allowing staff to recommend jobs to teach other

By implementing this Power Apps solution, the organisation now has a scalable, efficient platform that meets the needs of both hiring managers and applicants.
