Compare the pros and cons between NetSuite and Business Central.

NetSuite vs Business Central

If you're looking for an effective ERP software package to support your workers, compare NetSuite vs Business Central which both offer great benefits across many departments and roles. There are however some key differences that might be useful to know when making a choice between the two.

User Experience

NetSuite offers fixed bundle ERP packages for different industries. They’re intended to be used as they are, and not edited or modified for your organisation. This means that if you follow similar processes to other organisations, it will work brilliantly. Furthermore, if you are happy to alter your processes to fit the NetSuite standard, you can also benefit from using their ERP packages.

Business Central, on the other hand, is much more flexible in its capabilities and supports more individualised processes. It incorporates more of a sense of growth, allowing you to tailor solutions and adapt your ERP package as your business grows. If you want a platform that can mould more around your organisation, Business Central would be more fitting.

Updates

NetSuite rolls out an update twice a year. Each update is staggered into four phases and each customer is assigned a mandatory phase. When your phase starts, you will have no option to change it and your ERP software will go offline during the automatic installation.

Alternatively, Microsoft allows customers to choose their own dates for updates. This means you can avoid scheduled releases clashing with important events where full access to systems is needed. This follows in the flexible nature of Business Central that we touched on above.

Add-Ons

NetSuite offers a range of products, however, it may lack some of the features you need in your ERP software. Functions can be difficult to add on as they may not be compatible with NetSuite’s fixed structure.

On the contrary, Business Central is built to run with office apps such as Excel, which you and your staff are likely to be familiar with. It also allows for customisable third-party integrations.

NetSuite vs Business Central: Conclusion

Business Central is the more flexible option for your ERP software which allows for more modification and integration. NetSuite on the other hand lacks flexibility but is a solid fixed ERP package that requires little effort in setting up.
